This report concludes Phase One of the development of a Regional Food System Plan (RFSP) that embeds the vision of a regional food system that is sustainable, equitable and locally-led for the wellbeing of the environment and our people. As the Wellington region grows, it is projected there will be an additional 200,000 mouths to feed within the next 30 years. With population growth and the predicted changing climate, it is essential to understand the current food system context in order to plan and prepare for the region’s future food needs.
